Grass & Mowing and Tree Trimming Notice
Grass is not to exceed 6" and is not to be mowed into the street as this clogs stormsewers and is unsafe for bicycles and motorcycles. No noxious weeds are allowed in the city. Please be courteous to your neighbors and to those using city streets.
It is the owner's duty to trim trees so that all branches will be at least fifteen (15) feet above the surface of the street and eight (8) feet above the sidewalks. All trees, shrubs, and bushes which overhang onto the sidewalk must be trimmed back.
City Newsletter
A newsletter from City Hall is sent out approximately 4 times per year. It is intended to keep the residents updated on Ordinances that are pertinent for that time of the year and also inform them of news and upcoming events that are happening in the city. You can reserve the shelter houses for 2024 by calling City Hall at 319-788-6404.
Golf Cart Registration
Golf Cart Registrations run from January 1st - December 31st. You must register your golf cart for the 2024 year before you can legally drive it on city streets. The registration fee is $30. Stop in to City Hall to renew your golf cart. You will need your driver's license and your insurance card listing your golf cart as being insured.
Fitness Center Membership
All Fitness Center Pins expired December 31, 2023. You will need to renew your membership for 2024 to receive a new Pin Number. 2023 pin numbers will no longer be valid after January 4, 2024.
Winter Parking Ordinance
Reminder that there is no parking on any public street, alley, or City-owned off-street parking area between the hours of 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. during the months of November through March.
Property Snow Removal
Please be courteous to your neighbors and do not blow your snow onto their property. It is also unlawful for any person to throw, push, or place any ice or snow from private property, sidewalks or driveways onto the traveled way of a street or alley. Snow must be removed promptly from sidewalks following a snow.
