Elmwood Park offers soccer, baseball, and softball fields along with an aquatic center, basketball courts, tennis courts, pickleball courts, outdoor fitness equipment stationed around a walking path, walking paths around the park, and playground equipment.
Baseball and softball programs are offered through the city. In the fall, soccer is sponsored through the Cedar Valley Youth Soccer Association. A padded football league for 5th and 6th graders is sponsored through the Youth Sports Foundation. Volunteers coordinate the programs.
Strohbehn Park, a favorite of residents and wildlife, combines the solitude of Blackhawk Creek with undeveloped woodlands. There is a disc golf course called the Milky Way Galaxy Disc Golf Course located here as well as the Izaack Walton pond that is stocked with fish. They offer a Fishing Derby during the annual 4th of July celebration.
